Why issues should be considered before adding my married boyfriends name to documents related to the purchase of a condo in Illinois?

The issue that it becomes marital property if he divorces his wife comes to mind. His wife will get 1/2 of the house. If his name is on it it has to be in some sort of tenancy. At any rate she gets 1/2 of the house. If he breaks up with you, or vice versa, he can file a partition suit and get 1/2 the house. His creditors can reach any asset he has. So you could lose your house in many ways. The only loser in this deal is you. If you put him on the deed you will regret it.
