Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

Condominium Question

I live on the top (3rd fl.) of my condo bldg. I got water damage from a leak in the roof. The leak in the roof was repaired by the assoc. Now the damage to my ceiling is being repaired bv the assoc, but will only be ''spot'' primered. The whole ceiling will not be primered, nor will any of the ceiling be painted. The assoc. claims they don't have to repair the ceiling to what it looked like before the water damage. The ''spot'' primer will look disgusting and I will have to incur cost to primer & repaint the entire ceiling. Is the assoc correct by just primering the on spot? Why do I have to incur any cost due to damage from the roof?

Re: Condominium Question

The association is flexing its muscle and telling you what they are going to do for you. The real question is whether you have placed a claim with your homeowner's insurance carrier. Let them carry the water for you.
