Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

easements for sidewalk

The three to four foot stretch between the sidewalk and the road belongs to whom? Is there an automatic easement for the public in that middle area? Neighbor keeps driving on the grass in front of my house and it's ticking me off.

Re: easements for sidewalk

You would have to look at your survey and/or your title report to determine where the easements are. Have you talked to your neighbor about how this bothers you? It amazes me that so many people have disputes wiht their neighbors and contact a lawyer before talking to the neighbor.

Re: easements for sidewalk

you need a spotted survey. This will show any easements.

you would have a right to force him to stop.

If this is outside of youur property, you would need to contact your local municipality
