"I have recently taken custody of my fourteen year old daughter and when added her to my lease iwas told I was in violation of the law, having to many people in a two bedroom apt..What are the regulations concerning the number of family members in an apartment? Is there a square footage per person,etc.?"

In my opinion, the number of occupants of a leased property is governed by the lease provisions. Since I have not had the opportunity to examine the lease, it is impossible to determine whether the Landlord is in breach. Why don't you take your lease to a real estate attorney for review?
