Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

My father died and had a motorcycle. I wanted me to keep it but it was not paid off in full. I have been making payments on the bike since his death. I recently received a letter from the company that the company is informing me to release this bike back to them b/c they r the lein holder or they will pursue legal matters against me. Can I continue to make payments on the bike or do I have to release it?

You will need to contact them and you MAY be able to keep it but first you should talk to an attorney as to whether you legally did inherit it from him (and if you did how to get it into your name) or if you didn't then who is entitled to it (his wife - your mom? and/or other sibs or if there is a will who it went to.....). Act quickly because they may try to repo it. Or whoever is legally entitled to it is complaining...
