Re: Filing for a quickclaim deed

I think what you're looking for is a quit claim deed. It is used to transfer any claim to real estate one person might have to another, but it does not warrant that the person conveying has any ownership interest. Basically, they are "quitting" any "claim" they have to the property.

Most any real estate attorney would be well able to assist you. You would be best off to contact a real estate attorney somewhere near where the property is located. I'm not sure why you mention her income (or lack of income). That would have no bearing on transfering ownership of the property.

We are located in western Illinois, and if that's where the property is located, we would be happy to assist.

You simply file the deed with the recorder for your county. Or you can have an attorney draft and file it for you.
