Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

fines

I am renting a condo in Bloomingdale. and I have been told that I am going to be fined for various things. (complaints from others saying I am loud. I am deaf and i can not hear myself when I walk or do things. They are fining me 2000 dollars. I do not have that kind of money. Can they fine a renter???

Re: fines

You may have signed a lease with your landlord making you responsible for any fines.

I strongly suggest that you write a certified letter to the management company or condo board alerting them to your disabled status. Include a doctor's letter. You will likely find them more understanding afterwards.
