Under the Foreclosure law in Illinois, if you filed your court Appearance you are entitled to be kept informed of all hearings regarding the foreclosure case. After your home sells at the foreclosure auction, a "confirmation hearing" is scheduled whereby the Judge determines whether the sale was held in accordance with law. If the Judge rules this to be so,then the Judge generally gives the homeowner 30 to 90 days to leave the property. Therefore, it is crucial to attend this confirmation hearing if you have a reason as to why you need more time before eviction.

Once the court-mandated time period has expired, then the Sheriff of your county will evict you. Some counties have different methods of doing this, and it varies as to the amount of warning you might receive. That is why I recommend you attend the confirmation hearing if it has not already taken place.
