Is the general contractor liable?
Two years ago we purchased a 1st floor condominium constructed in 2001. The condo has transferred ownership 3 times. So we are the 3rd or 4th owner. We do not have any warranty information on the construction of the property and we do not know if the warranty is transferable.
We notice the hardwood floors on both sides of the condo are starting to sink downward. We are concerned that this is a foundation problem and doesnt sound like something typical that would happen normally.
We do know the name of the developer and were curious if we could make them liable for the damage that this is causing to my hardwood floors.

There are a lot of questions I would have for you before answering. The most important question is whether anyone made any warranties. This could include anyone in the chain of title (previous owners), it could include the general contractor, it could include subcontractors. If there is a warranty that is still valid, you may have a case.
