Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
Hello:
My mother had her house rooms rented by tenants and she had a home insurance. She recently passed and we got a letter from her home insurance that the policy will be cancelled since the residence is not owner occupied by the policy. My question is I am the landlord now. What type of insurance should I get? I have the 4 rooms rented in the house but I am not living there.

There are several kinds of coverages you will want to consider if you intend to keep the house as "investment rental" property. Start talking to a couple of insurance agents but here are some types: hazard (fire...), liability, boiler and machinery, excess/umbrella (liability), loss of rents....
