Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
Hi,
I recently called the county (Cook county) to have a die test performed on my neighbors septic system. Without going into that issue any further, in retaliation, my neighbor put a nasty threatening letter in my mail box.
In the letter my neighbor threatens me with being in violation of a four foot cedar fence that my ex husband installed. It was built without a permit but the fence has since been taken down. Can my neighbor report a violation for a fence that is no longer there?

Yes, the neighbor can "report" anything he or she wants to report, but I doubt the County is going to be terribly interested in a fence which does not exist.
