Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
I own my home. The house is in mine and my mother's name. She is deceased. How do I get her name off the deed and add my daughter's name?

Not enough info: need to know how you and mom held title. If joint tenants then when she passed title should automatically have passed to you, and a title company can help with that. If you were tenants in common it gets more complicated since mom's share then passes by either a will, trust, or intestacy by heirship. Because it's real estate if there was no trust, a probate court proceeding with be required. Daughter needs to be of legal age or you may need to put it into a trust including her. A decent probate attorney in your area should be able to be helpful. If you're not sure the local bar association may have a lawyer referral service.
