Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

I own a home in Illinois' Lake County. My HOA's declaration has a restriction that the units cannot be leased/rented. I am in a situation where I am having to move to a different state with my family because of my job. I did not want to sell my home in the state of the economy that we are in now and so wanted to rent/lease my unit. Can my HOA deny me from renting my unit out. Is there a state law in Illinois that governs how HOA can or cannot operate (in terms of the rental/lease scenario). Please advice!

Thanks

An HOA can prevent you from leasing or renting out your condo. You can go to your homeowner's association and try and get an exemption.
