Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

home onership after death of a spouse

My homes deed is in my wifes name. her ex-spouse passed away

Do we need to do anything so it has my name on it. Or will the fact that we are married be enough

The fact that you are married is not enough. You need to have the situation addressed by an attorney because both you and your wife stand to lose your interest in the house.
