Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
I own the house, my husband of 15 years, and I live in. The house was quit deeded to me from my first husband when we divorced. I never put my present husband's name on anything concerning the house or property, but he has been paying the morgage since we've been married. My first husband's name is still on the morgage. I want to separate and leave the state of il but I need to do something with my house. Can I sell my house or just quit deed it back to my first husband, as we are still friends. I need to know what options I have according to the law.

You can try anything but your current husband may have acquired certain "equities" in the property that he could press you for a settlement if you and he divorce. This is too complicated to rely on an on-line forum to resolve. Please seek proper divorce counsel!
