Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

My credit score is not high enough to apply for a house loan, so my boyfriend put one in and it was approved. They told him that my name couldn't be on the contract because he's the only one on the loan. What do i have to do to also have the rights to the house, since we'll be both investing on it?
