Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
Illinois HOA law
We live in a new construction townhome development which is a home owners (NFP) association. What are the differences of specific law between HOA and condominium law in Illinois; where would I get the full HOA law (not condo) law

Re: Illinois HOA law
First of all, let me apologize for the delay in answering your question. Surely, there are a lot of specific differences in the two laws. Condo owners have different ownership interests than free-standing homeowners do (owning only the space inside the walls, tenants in common with respect to the common areas, etc.). As far as getting a copy of any law, you could go to a law library in the area. Or try the Illinois statutes online at http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/ilcs.asp
