In Illinois what is the total amount of months you can live in your home when you stop payiny your mortgage, for what ever reason, and you fail to go to any court hearings regarding your foreclousre.

If you fail to go any of the court hearings you can live in the house until you get an eviction notice. After that you will have about 30 days. How much time you will have until the eviction notice depends on several factors like how full the court's docket is and what stage the foreclosure proceeding is at.

Gee, I'd say get yourself a pair of dice, throw them, and each dot represents a month.....There is a backlog in the courts but you're playing with fire since one day the sheriff and a moving van will show up.... If you were served with the foreclosure lawsuit, however, you can most likely count on a minimum of 4 months in the immediate Chicago area. PS by failing to show up you waive your rights to interpose any defenses to any deficiency judgment too, so if your loan was $50,000 and the lender only gets $40,000 at the Sheriff's sale, you owe $10,000 and they'll be coming for that too....
