Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
Investment property
I purchased a tenant occupied investment property. The landlord gave me paperwork at the closing stating the tenant was on a month-to-month lease. But now the tenant showed me an annual lease not disclosed by the previous owner that doesnt end for another 5 months. Could I still evict the tenant?

Re: Investment property
No. However you could sue the former owner to reform the contract to the facts. However, you will have to prove that you have suffered damages.
Good luck
