Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

joint family home ownership.

My two sisters and I own a home, one wants out. She never paid for any remodeling, roof, siding, new kitchen, bathroom,

new livingroom, Nothing. Now she wants us to sell the house so she can have her share. We have a mortage and she has a good portion of it. Any equity we have on the house is what we have put into it, yes I have all the bills. What can we do? My one sister and I would like to keep the house it was my folks. I did tell her I would just take the mortage and pay it off. She still wants more. Please help.

Thank You.

Re: joint family home ownership.

If it is in all three names, then you can not stop her from having a partition suit and sale, unles you come up with a negotiated price. otherwise it is the auction block.
