Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

Joint Tenancy by the Entireties

We want to change the title on our home from Joint Tendancy to Joint Tendancy by the Entireties. I am not sure of the spelling but I think it is close enough. We need to know what form to use and where to get it.

If you go to one of the title company websites [either chicago title insurance company or ticor title insurance company]I think they have various deed forms you can download.

Re: Joint Tenancy by the Entireties

You must mean tenanct by the entirety. There is a form you may pick up at any office supply store. However, if this is Cook County you have several other forms that you will need to have to record the deed.

You only qualify for tenants by the entirety if you are legally married.

I would be happy to prepare the documents and record the deed for a fee of $125.00.
