I need someone to go over a land contract with me and explain certain aspects of it to me.

You are wise to seek the advice of counsel. There are very important considerations in handling land contracts and it is unlikely the transaction is being handled correctly. Unfortunately, even many attorneys allow buyers to take chances on these transactions without advising them. Look for a reputable real estate closing attorney by asking friends for a referral, contacting the local bar association or searching a site like this one. You may even be able to handle much of it by phone, E-mail and fax.
