Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

My landlord entered a judgement $1650.00, he is trying to get $50 more and the judge gave me 21 days to move. He didnt want to hear my side of the story. the landlord asked me if it was ok for him to keep his car in the garage for 2weeks. he had his car in the garage for over14 months. how can i off set the amout owed for rent to the amount he owe me for storage. i also need to request for 30 day extention

You should have an attorney at least review this situation with you. If you owed the rent or any portion of it the landlord had a right to possession. As to the amount you owed, it sounds as though the deal included his right to continue using the garage space, so there's no way to tell whether you are entitled to an offset, but that is an issue that could have gone to a jury based on whatever lease you had and the facts of the situation, but you may have blown the chance to contest the amount. So with so little to go on it's impossible to say. As to the 30 day extension you should have asked for that when possession was given, and you may have to go back to court on a motion to extend. But based on the situation you may have blown various procedural rights and options you had!
