Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
Landlord Entering Apartment
Our landlord keeps coming up with excuses to enter our apartment when we are not home. He gives us the notice, but if he finds us home he seems shocked and plans to come another day when he knows we are working. What can we do about this is there a law wheter or not he can enter our home if we leave a note on the door and say he can come on a day we are home? He wants to come in to fix a fan over our stove that we have already fixed. We told him that but he still insists on coming in our home when we aren't there.

Re: Landlord Entering Apartment
If you make yourselves available to him and instruct him to come specifically when you are home, then he has no right to enter when you are not there. Notice is not enough to allow him to enter.
The only exception might be if your lease provides otherwise, but I would need to see the lease to make that determination.
