Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

We have a large tree in our backyard. Our new neighbors are asking for permission to remove some branches that hang over their roof & they seem to expect us to pay for it. Are we legally obligated to pay for any or all costs relating to the removal of the branches?

They can take down the branches, but they must pay for it themselves.
