Law on renting

If you are renting and uou have no lease, what is the pros and cons of not having a lease?

The pros are:

-Flexibility. You can move anytime you want. If you had a typical lease of a year that is now expired then it likely converted to a month-to-month lease.

The cons are:

Planning-Your landlord can rent to someone else, sell the building to a developer, or just kick you out with as little as a months notice.
