Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

I have left the US last year before finishing my 8-month-lease. I was an F-1 visa holder & my visa got suspended because I moved to another country.

I only stayed for 2 months &when I tried to sublet the apartment, the management company refused.

if I wanna go back as a visitor, would I be facing any legal problems or jail time..ect?

You could face a legal problem but not a criminal problem.

You don't say where you are from but here generally you can't go to jail just because you break your lease for an apartment because you simply move out and stop paying rent. But if you don't belong on the property the landlord could have you arrested if you refuse to leave after being warned once by police that you are a trespasser. Depends who you're visiting -- and if you overstay your "visit" you could get the host in trouble too. And if you stay long enough and the landlord has sued you for unpaid rent, there's a better chance the landlord will be able to serve you with the lawsuit. Ignoring lawsuits can ultimately lead to jail. As to the immigration issue, sorry can't answer that one.
