Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
Is it legal for a tenant to have her monthly disability check directly deposited into landlord's bank account as payment of rent? This is for a rental house in Madison County, Illinois. The tenant wants to do this and I have never heard of this before. Thank you.

Even thought this may be tempting because it is like a guaranteed payment of sorts, do not do this. There are a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that the tenant has nothing to do with the account.
