Leins on residential property

Is a creditor legally responsible for notifying the property owner of a lein being issued against the property, or can a lein be issued, and the property owner not become aware until the title of the house is checked?

Hello. In my opinion the homeowner should be notified when a lien is recorded against their property. However, this is really not a defense to the lien. Will be happy to discuss this further and in more detail.
