Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

Lien release requirements

Our organization placed a lien on a member's home for failure to pay an assessment. The homeowner then paid. The lien release was not sent out to the homeowner for about 9 months by the oganization. Are there any repucussions against the organization for not being timely. What is the law on sending someone a lein release when you have been paid?

Re: Lien release requirements

It is required that a release be provided when a lien is paid off. Unless there was a request to provide the release, and some damages resulted from a failure to provide the release, I can't imagine a circumstance where there would be any "repercussions."
