Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
We live with my husbands sister. The mortgage is in her name, ALL the utilities are in mine or my husbands name. I have been told that we have some rights to the house. Is this true and if it is what are those rights.

You MIGHT have tenant's rights, but from the facts you have provided, I cannot see that you would have any ownership interest in the property. The name on the mortgage is irrelevant to ownership--what matters is the name on the deed.
