Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

I live in a small rural illinois town. I have a car in my driveway (I own the house) that doesn't run. I was just give 10 days notice to have it registered or they will fine me $50/day. Many of these were given out in town. Do have to give me more notice than 10 days?
