Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
I'm living in my ex-husbands building. For the last three years he has basically refused to work and I have been paying for most of the repairs and what needs to be paid for the mortgage and utilities. He is currently 2 months behind in the mortgage payments. Is there any way I can take over the mortgage with the bank?

You'd have to go back to court to get some further relief as post-decree matters if he won't agree to work with you, and the bank is not obligated to do so anyhow unless you are on title, on the note or mortgage, or the building is somehow covered in your divorce decree.
