Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
I made a deal to buy a piece of property and gave the owner $100 in earnest money and the balance was due in a few days. We both signed an agreement that this earnest money was for the purchase of the land. Now he says his wife changed her mind and he is backing out of the deal. Do I have any legal right to make him honor the sale?

Look to the terms of the agreement.

Possibly, but it would depend on what your written agreement says.
