Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
So to make my girlfriend happy, I paid a lot of money for her to get a dog. I sent the money on paypal to her. The lady she was getting the dog from didn't accept checks so I sent it to my girlfriend's paypal account. I think she went to the bank and got a cashiers check. She lives in a different state by the way. I live in Illinois and she lives in Florida. She got this dog on Friday and today she broke up with me. Is there anything I can do to get this money back or get the dog legally? We agreed that the dog was both of ours.

The logistics of the geography makes it very impractical. You might want to hire an attorney to try and bluff her with a letter of demand. Good luck.
Dare I say that she loves the dog more than you? I don't know how much money was involved in this transaction, but I would predict that the cost of litigation would far exceed what the cost of the dog was. Consider this a valuable life lesson.

Since you didn't say there was a contract, or a loan, sounds like you made her a gift, no matter how you paid for it. So while it must be extremely frustrating, I think you'd be spending good money after bad to change the situation.
