Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
my mom recently sold her cottage that the entire family was using, to my sister without my knowledge. i have some furniture and many other possessions still at the cottage. the locks have been changed and my sister won't let me in to claim my things. how can i get my stuff?

Why won't she let you in, and have you asked your mom for help? Seems like the logical thing to do before you have to make a legal mess out of it. Some pieces of this puzzle seem missing.

You might need to sue her, however, you will need to prove that these items are belong to you. Perhaps your mother could intervene, since she would probably get to be a witness otherwise.
