My Mother recently suffered a severe stroke. Without any assets besides their home, can my mother sign a quit claim deed and take hre name off the house? My father would like to make sure that she is Medicaid eligible for the long term care she will need in a home.

Medicaid has a "look back" period. Therefore, transferring the home doesn't accomplish what you're trying to do. However, the home is considered an exempt asset under certain circumstances. You should consult with a competent elder law attorney before taking steps on your own.
