Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
I moved into this 3 bedroom rental apartment in Chicago, IL in May 1995 and pay market value (1,300). I was unaware that the carpeting was not new. So in 2011, I contracted asthma while living here. It was a letter from my psychiatrist that moved Management to pull up the old carpet and replace it with tile. However, since 2011, I now suffer from severe respitory problems and require oxygen. I discovered we have been also living with mold. Management came and recntly painted over some of the mold on May 20, 2013. I am diabled since 1989, my sister is disabled (62) and my elderly mom is 81. However, my family and I cough a lot overnight. What options do I have regarding Management?

Give notice that the place is not habitable, move out and sue. BUT DO NOT DO ANY OF THIS WITHOUT THE HELP OF AN ATTORNEY.
