Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
Does my neighborhood need a lawyer?
The Village I live in, although I am unincorporated, has decided that they may take a portion of my property to put in a sidewalk. The homes on my block are scattered with incorporated and unincorporated. My Cert of Title and Deed do not show an easement, nor have I signed a Right of Easement, nor my neighbors. We wish to fight the Village. The gentleman who bought this plat of land 40 years ago never signed rights over to anyone, so now the Village has decided that they have rights to it. Who has rights to it?

Re: Does my neighborhood need a lawyer?
You need the assistance of a real estate lawyer. I practice in Du Page, and Kane Counties, Illinois. If you live in one of these counties, I would be pleased to speak with you in my office about your problem. If you don't live in one of these counties, I would suggest, strongly, that you speak with a lawyer who has an office in the same county as the land.
