Obligation to Pay for Home

If a married couple each have wills and one should die, leaving an unpaid home to a specific child, who will be responsible for the dept? The child or the spouse?

It depends on how the spouses held title to the home. If they're joint tenants, it passes to the other spouse. If they're tenants in common, it will pass to the heirs. You probably need to talk to a probate attorney for this.
