Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
Pet complaint
Our neighbor has a rottweiler and 2 times within the last month the dog got free from her chain and ended up in another neighbors yard while they were out. The dog is not vicious nor did she bite anyone. The police were called both times and a complaint was filed. The police have now informed them if one more complaint is filed the dog will be confiscated and destroyed. There is no bite history with this dog. Can the police legally take the dog and destroy it?

Re: Pet complaint
Seems to me that a govenment entity can't take property without due process of law. Further seems to me that you should contact a lawyer in your jurisdiction now; a letter from that individual to the governmental entity would be worthwhile, in my opinion. Good Luck
