First, Puerto Rico is not a US state; it is a territory. If the home is there, then the best thing to do is make sure that Puerto Rico would recognize a power of attorney made under Illinois law. An attorney there, or a title insurance company, can probably provide a form that is locally approved, but it is probably worthwhile also having an Illinois power too.
