If my property was designated for demolition are there still property taxes assesed on it?

Yes. Real estate taxes are assessed on vacant land as well as property with structures on it.
Once the demolition is completed, the property is entitled to have the building improvement portion of the assessment removed. That will in turn, lower the assessment of the property due to its circumstances and thereby, lower the property tax bill as well.
Information to provide the local township Assessor, or the Supervisor of Assessments for the County in which the property is located should include, the Demolition Permit; Pictures of the structure BEFORE demolition; Pictures of the vacant land AFTER the demolition; and a copy of the paid invoice for the Demolition work.
Then, a "field officer" will most likely view the property in person and an adjustment by the Assessing officials will be made accordingly.
