I live in Chicago IL. Two weeks ago, a large tree fell down in my backyard. The is rooted on my neighbor's property. The legal question: is my neighbor responsible for the removal of the tree from my proper? If the neighbor is responsible and I pay to have the tree removed, can I recover my cost from the neighbor?

Your neighbor would not usually be responsible unless the tree fell because of his negligence.
