Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

Prperty in IL. I live in Florida. IF IL property short sold and I receive 1099 C can I still be sued for a short sale deficiency or can the deficiency be passed on to third party collector?

If you sold your property in a short sale you will not be sued for the difference. You can only be sued for a deficiency if you lose the property due to a foreclosure.
