Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois
I purchased by current home and put it in my son's name so I can't deduct property taxes I pay. If I (we) sell this house and purchase another and put it into a trust, will I be able to deduct the property taxes I will pay on this or would putting it into joint tenancy enable me to deduct the taxes?

Generally speaking, you may either put the property in Trust or in Joint Tenancy and deduct the real estate taxes if you pay those taxes.
