Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

Hello, my question is, I store my boat at a storage facility and pay monthly. I was given verbal permission to erect a portable metal carport over my boat. Is there any legal aspects I should consider or any legal documents I should have signed by property owner prior to erecting this structure? Thanks

A lot, maybe. I wouldn't do this w/o a written agreement. Who will own it? When you stop storing the boat can you remove it and keep it or will you be required to abandon it to the yard? Insurance on it, including property and liability? Repair and maintenance costs? Do you really want to spend that kind of money on a monthly agreement w/o some longer term guaranty? There may be more - see an attorney to draft something up.
