Quit Claim Deed

I would like to have my wife sign a quit claim deed for our summer home which I originally inherited from my family. We are still married and do not plan on divorcing, but i would like the comfort of having this property in my name only. Is their any legal value in having this property only in my name? Since it will be in my name only, can any liability incurred by my wife be attached to this propery?
