Real Estate Law Suit

Am involved in a malicious lawsuit regarding a home I sold. If the lawsuit dollar amount was increased via duplicate charges and betterment to take it over the amount for small claims; therefore, causing me to have to hire a lawyer and spend over $5000 (at this point) to defend myself, then do I have basis for a suit to recover legal fees?

There is no suit to recover legal fees. Attorneys' fees and costs associated with litigation are sometimes recoverable under some statutes and for certain causes of action. Ask your attorney about this.
