Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

I received a Circuit Court summoned letter.

Recently, I received a letter from an investigator about a circuit court summoned letter, becausee I didn't pay for the association fees for my townhome. Do I have to go to court? The attorney fees is actually more than the association dues, do I have to pay them all? or I can appeal?

Yes, you need to go to Court. If you do not, you lose. Whether you are responsible for the attorneys fees and whether those fees are reasonable are things which will be resolved at your trial.

I think you're saying you got a Summons and Complaint served on you by a special process server. If so, as the other attorney said, go to court. There, you can tell your side of the story. Obviously, there's no guarantee the judge will see things your way.

Appeals don't happen until after the trial is over. And since you have to post a bond in the amount of the judgment (or maybe more), small cases are rarely appealed.
